This course aims to develop understanding of the intricacies of the planning and property development process in the context of an urban regeneration project. Participants will select an urban regeneration site and research the potential of that site as if it was a real life mixed use regeneration opportunity. In doing so, particular emphasis will be placed on the constituent elements in sustainable urban regeneration development schemes including the economic/environmental/social appraisal of projects, the inputs and constraints faced when developing mixed use projects, and the challenges of delivering sustainable development aspirations within an urban regeneration context.
This course is aimed at those who have an interest in urban regeneration project delivery and how this can be assessed against sustainability criteria. It does not have to be someone from a real estate background as the course is designed to bring both cognate and non-cognate degree holders up to speed on the wider implications of planning, development, financing and management of commercial/residential development.
