Introduction This course aims to provide students with knowledge and critical understanding of the principles of parasite ecology and epidemiology and their practical application.
Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
- Explain the meaning of key concepts in parasite epidemiology
- Apply techniques used in epidemiological surveys
- Critically analyse and interpret ecological and epidemiological data
- Discuss the roles and effectiveness of chemotherapy and chemoprophylaxis in control of parasites
Pre-requisites A knowledge of either Parasitology & Vector Biology is required or knowledge of clinical tropical medicine.
