The Biosafety Training Institute (BTI) at The University of Edinburgh.
This course is aimed at professionals working in a safety and/or biological environment.
The course is accredited by Institute of Safety in Technology and Research and falls in line with the CEN Workshop 53 Agreement on Biosafety Professional Competence (BSP). It has also been approved by the Validation Board of the University of Edinburgh as SCQFLevel 11. The Royal Society of Biology has approved the course for purposes of CPD, and it may be counted as 93 CPD credits.
Once attendees have completed all of the units provided in this hybrid course (and passed the assessment), they can become registered by ISTR as Level 1 Biosafety Practitioners if they have two years' relevant experience.

This course is a Hybrid course which involves completion of some modules online followed by 3 days face to face teaching in Edinburgh, Scotland. Assessments will be completed online and during the face to face training. Six weeks are given to complete the online learning but this is for flexibility (to allow for heavy work schedules / holidays) - it is not full time, and delegates may complete their online learning at a convenient time during this six week period.
The price for the course is £1,500 per person. This covers all of the training and teaching materials required. It also includes refreshments & lunches during the three days in Edinburgh. Please note that travel and accommodation are not included.
