The Northern School of Psychodrama is now recruiting students for its Training Programme.
Certificate in Action Method Skills
This is the foundation level of training and is accredited by the BPA. This course leads to a Certificate in Action Methods and while not a licence to practice as a psychodramatist, combined with other therapeutic training will enable you to enhance that skill base so that you will be able to safely utilise this new learning in your practice with clients.
Who is it for?
It is suitable for people who have some experience of working with individuals or groups in a way which promotes learning or enhances personal development. It may also be of interest to people who work therapeutically as a means of expanding their creativity or enlivening their practice.
The Course Requirements:
Applicants must have some experience of psychodrama before joining the course. This may be from attending one of our workshops prior to commencement.
You are required to attend a minimum of 90% of the course hours plus write a final essay of 2,500-3,000 words.
The Location Of The Course:
The course is delivered on six weekends in Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle and York we run 8 workshops per year (16 over the duration of the course) and you can choose which of the 16 workshops you would like to attend. It is also possible to swap 2 weekend workshops for a place on one of our 5 day residential workshops
There will be a group tutorial for Certificate trainees on each weekend. This lasts for 1 hour and is usually held early Saturday Evening.
In addition there is a staff member designated as contact tutor for the course.
Transfer Onto Diploma
Having successfully undertaken the Certificate Course, you may later choose to continue onto the Diploma. Provided you register for the diploma within 5 years of completion of the certificate you may apply for APL.
