The first 2 weeks address General and Diagnostic Pathology, and the remaining weeks are devoted to Systematic Pathology, covering cancers of all major organ systems. Topics presented in the module are listed below:
General and Diagnostic, Breast, Respiratory, Alimentary, Gynaecological, Urinary, Male Reproductive, Lymphoid and Myeloid, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic, Skin, Paediatric, Bone and Soft Tissue, Endocrine, Central Nervous system.
The module aims:
• To develop understanding of the processes of diagnostic histopathology and cytology
• To develop understanding of the principles of general cancer pathology, cancer screening and tumour markers
• To develop understanding of the aetiology, incidence, appearances, behaviour, prognosis and diagnosis of common tumours of the major organ systems.
