Working at height (WAH) is possibly one of the most dangerous
but essential activities in the workplace especially on a
construction site. Health and Safety Executive (HSE) statistics
showed WAH to be the most frequent cause of fatal accidents
to workers in 2018 (26 per cent of the total). They often occur
because protective measures are not in place or are inadequate.
In the UK, the WAH regulations 2005 apply to all work where
there is a risk of a ‘fall liable to cause personal injury’ and require
the employer to do all that is reasonably practicable to avoid
someone falling. On this course, you will consider the legislation
in relation to WAH and use case studies to discuss the assessment
and control of those tasks undertaken at height.

The learning outcomes for this course provide an understanding of:
• the key health and safety legislation in relation to WAH
• the roles and responsibilities (employers and employees) linked
to the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015
• the main hazards (safety and health)
• conducting risk assessments
• safe working practices
• equipment available for WAH

  • For Individual and Organisations booking three or more half day courses at one time can obtain the courses for £90.00 each course as a multirate discount
  • For APC candidates/Retired attendees/Apprenticeship rate - the price is £70.00 per course
