Brazil: An Inside View is a four-day executive program which will provide its participants with a first-hand view of business opportunities in the leading Latin-American country. The academic sessions are led by faculty members from IE Business School and INSPER – Institute of Education and Research. The program combines in-depth lectures on Brazil-specific business topics taught by prominent experts, along with company visits and cultural events.

This program has been designed to offer its participants:

• An in-depth view of a world of business opportunities, such as energy, infrastructure and construction, in the leading Latin-American country;

• An understanding of why Brazil is one of the main economies that attract huge foreign direct investments of the world.

• Company visits to gain firsthand experience in Brazil.

• Interactive sessions with prominent experts on potential investments in Brazil’s top business sectors;

• An understanding of the characteristics of Brazil’s corporate and cultural behavior.

• Successful marketing strategies for one of the world’s largest, and growing, consumer markets.

• Information of how the government provides several incentives to foreign investors, allowing them to have up to 100% ownership of land and property;

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

The program features several stimulating modules that address numerous issues of concern for executives interested in taking advantage of the many economic and commercial opportunities available in Brazil. Topics to be discussed include:

Brazilian Economic Environment

The importance of Brazil´s role in international businesses and economy has been increased recently. This session brings a critical view to understand the real challenges and opportunities in the Brazilian market.

Cultural Issues in Business Relations

Culture plays an important role in the way businesses are done. This session discusses stereotypes, reality and impacts that influences the way business is made in Brazil.

Sustainable Business Strategy in Brazil: risks and opportunities

Companies all around the world have been struggling to integrate sustainability into business strategy. this seminar will present and discuss the actions Brazilian companies are taking on sustainable strategy, in terms of planning, execution and control of environmental, social and economic strategies, in order to reduce risks and explore opportunities.

Financial Tools in Brazilian Markets

This session will cover the overview of financial tools in Brazilian Markets, it will review the economic background as well as a characterization of main debts, different scenarios, reflections and conclusions.

Marketing Challenges in Brazil

Businesses success is closely related with the ability to understand current and potential customers. Recent changes in Brazilian business environment brought relevance to emergent customers, also cited as Bottom of the Pyramid (BoP). This market segment represents an interesting opportunity and new challenges that will be addressed in this session.

Brazil has made a big jump to Information Society in the past two decades. This session will review such evolution, since its big take-off in 1995 and its huge impact on Businesses.

E-Commerce and Social Media in Brazil

E-Commerce in Brazil is growing very fast. Thus, this session will review and discuss this advancement, analyzing some successful cases and trends. The second part of the session will focus on how social media and social networks are actively used by Brazilians and companies.

Private Equity in Brazil

The session discusses the Private Equity and Venture Capital industry in Brazil. We overview the following topics: fundamentals, industry history, main players, investment mix, exits and value creation, peculiarities and perspectives.

Critical Thinking & Organizational Change

Recent surveys with companies´ senior leadership and HR specialists point critical thinking as one of the key competencies to face the raising complexity and uncertainty of organizational problems. This course will address how critical thinking might create value within the context of complex problem solving by bringing dilemmas and cases featuring Brazilian reality.

Debates and reflections about Organizational Change

This session will engage the participants in vivid debates and reflections aiming at enriching and revising current mindsets and changing organizational behavior in Brazilian organizations.

PROGRAM AGENDA

This intense four-day international program has been structured to provide its participants with a hands-on view on how to do business in Brazil, through Brazil-specific academic sessions, company visits, case studies, interactive workshops, expert opinions, networking opportunities and cultural events.

Participants will attend all academic sessions at INSPER – Institute of Education and Research in São Paulo and take part in company visits, belonging to sectors such as infrastructure, engineering, energy, and metallurgy, during the day. Cultural events will be held in the evening.

The program content may change, but it will always follow the program’s objectives rigorously.
